Hot Work Permit

 

 

This document should be used to support the general requirements of
The Greencore Group Permit to Work 03.200.she.

It is intended to facilitate a "Safe System of Work"
where hot Work Processes are to be employed.

What is Hot Work?

Hot Work is Where heat is to be generated during a process usually to effect a repair during maintenance operations e.g. fusion welding, brazing, soldering, the use of naked lights such as Oxy-acetylene cutting, paint stripping, metal grinding where sparks are generated or unprotected electric lights in hazardous atmospheres etc.

REMEMBER FIRE IS OUR GREATEST CONCERN, PREVENT IGNITION!

Exclusions

In this context Hot Work does not refer to cooking processes, ovens, fat fryers and roasters or oven burners etc during normal operation.

I understand that I am responsible for the area that I have requested permission to work with hot processes. I will not leave the area unattended whilst Hot Work is in progress. I will ensure that when I leave the area that my equipment is made safe and pipe-work is purged of all flammable gases and the flexible hoses to the regulators have disconnected. I will have available at all times a suitable and serviceable fire extinguisher. I will not leave the area whilst metal work either, the job or, the residue namely used welding electrodes etc are still Hot.
