| Electricity
impacts on our daily lives at home, leisure or at work. We
are well aware that electricity can kill, or maim and yet, we never really
expect it to happen to us. The
Greencore Group and divisional offices are responsible for ensuring the full
implementation of the Electricity at Work Regulations 1989, "so
far as is reasonably practical". This
will require a full review of all electrical systems from the supply into
the company to the end user. This review will document the system using up
to date and approved drawings. The testing of the electrical system to a
recognised standard by competent engineers will include a recorded pre-planned
maintenance system for all equipment and plant. Training If
work is to be carried out by in house engineers training will be provided where
appropriate to ensure that engineers are competent and maintain an acceptable
level of competence whilst employed by the company. Electrical
contractors All
contracting companies engaged by any Greencore Group company must be registered
with a recognised and accredited body, e.g. N.I.C., National Inspection
Council for Electrical Inspection Contracting. Insurance See
01.050.she for Contractors Liability Insurance and Professional
Indemnity Policy Documentation All
documentation must be supplied to the Greencore Group company by contracting companies
on completion of the contract. This
is to include; -
Up to date drawing of all work completed ideally on paper and disc.
- Completed
test certificates from an accredited body
