What this web site is about

Level 1 policies have been developed by the Joint Consultative Committee (JCC)
of The Greencore Group or its sub committees.

The JCC is chaired by the Technical Director or a Head Office Nominee
and comprises of:
one delegate from each of the companies operating divisions,
two representatives of the Transport & General Workers Union (T&GWU)
and a representative from our Insurance Brokers,
who liaise closely with our Insurers

Decisions concerning Group SHE policy are published as a draft document
for at least thirty (30) days.

This period has been allocated to encourage debate and constructive criticism
from all interested stakeholders.

To facilitate effective communication with the Greencore Group,
the reader is directed to the comments page of this website.

Following completion of the draft consultation period,
the Greencore Group consider all of Level 1 to be Mandatory Company Policy.

Level 1 policies are endorsed by The Technical Director,
and are binding at all levels of Group activity.

PROCEDURES

Level 2 procedures are developed by the Joint Consultative Committee (JCC),
based on current legislation, existing company guidance
and acknowledged best industrial practice,
as a means of supporting our Level 1 policy statements.

These procedures are designed to promote an increased level of awareness
among Group companies, Greencore Group employees, contractors, visitors and our neighbours
toward a safer working environment.

Greencore Group must endeavour to comply or improve on all Group Procedures.

GUIDANCE

Level 3 Documents, Check lists, Forms and Guidance Notes
are published as support of company Policy and Procedures.
They are intended to provide a basis for "Safe Systems of Work"
and can be incorporated into work instructions.

The Greencore Group gratefully acknowledges that some of these documents are subject to copyright waivers and we have attempted to identify and acknowledge all intellectual property rights. Any contribution that has not been adequately referenced will be acknowledged or withdrawn upon proof of authorship.

THOUGHTS

As a platform for innovation, the Greencore Group have provided this section
to promote innovation in Safety Health and  Environmental issues
from independent viewpoints.

Here we will support the publication of quality documents
that raise awareness of SHE issues for the benefit of all concerned.

We have drawn heavily on Approved Codes of Practice, Guidance Notes, British Standards
and contributions from interested organizations and individuals.
